 | Why Run? Our schools are facing difficult times. Tough financial challenges are putting more pressure than ever on our ability to meet tough educational challenges. I now have three children in District 102's schools and will have kids here through Spring, 2018. Having kids who have attended classes in all four of our elementary schools, I have a broader perspective than most. I want to serve our community and I believe this is the most important place I can invest my time and energy. In this way, I am following my father’s example. He served on our local school board when I was growing up, and did so because he thought it was the most important thing he could do for the community. My experiences serving as a member of District 102's Financial Advisory Council, as an active member of our community and as a parent have given me a firm understanding of the challenges we face. I offer specific proposals for addressing them and a willingness to listen as well as lead. If you recieved an email saying that the other candidates were endorsed by the Education Association (i.e. the teachers) you were misinformed. Click here for details. Check out the coverage of the Candidate Forum and the election by the LaGrange Doings. Congratulations to our new Board. |
 | The Value of Education Academic excellence. To me, this issue is so important, it risks being overlooked as obvious. And yet, is one of District’s most significant jobs. We're doing a lot of things right at District 102, but there are places where we must improve and difficult challenges ahead.

 | Family Our family is a member of the St. Francis Xavier Parish in LaGrange. My wife Jill and I were married at the church in 1999 and all of our children were baptized there. My daughter Harper attended Grace Lutheran preschool. My other daughter Ellie (EB), and my son Tate have attended Methodist preschool.

 | Putting my Skills to Work
As an attorney, I have to condense vast amounts of information to see how it bears on big picture issues. I have to develop and execute strategies for solving problems. I also have to present my position or strategy to clients, opposing lawyers, judges and juries. I would put all of these skills to work as a Board Member. .

 | A Candidate for all of our Kids
I would broadly represent all of the schools in our District. My children have attended each of District 102’s four elementary schools and will attend Park Junior High School. My kids have attended two different area preschools, and my involvement with the Indian Princess program broadens my exposure to families throughout the District.
